The passing of legendary actor Dharmendra left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions. His presence was a dream for many, a collaboration for some, and a cherished bond for the fortunate few. Among them is the talented choreographer and filmmaker, Ahmed Khan, who worked with Dharmendra and his sons in 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' and had the honor of choreographing the sangeet for Sunny Deol's son, Karan Deol. In a recent interview, Ahmed Khan shared his unique connection with the iconic He-Man of Bollywood, revealing a heartwarming story that showcases Dharmendra's affection and respect for him.
Ahmed Khan recalled Dharmendra's words, "Only Ahmed can make all the Deols dance," a testament to their special relationship. This bond extended beyond professional ties, and Ahmed Khan felt the loss of Dharmendra on a deeply personal level. He expressed, "It's a loss that I can't fully articulate because, first and foremost, I had a personal relationship with him that everyone is aware of. But I believe each of us had a unique connection with him because we've been witnessing his journey since our birth. Even to this day, the motivational videos he shared inspired people of all ages to stay active.
Ahmed Khan further shared his experiences with Dharmendra's warmth and generosity. "Whenever I visited his bungalow, he would sit with me, hold my face in his palms, and shower me with kisses and love." This level of affection and respect is rare and speaks volumes about their relationship.
Ahmed Khan's unique ability to bring the entire Deol family together through dance is a testament to his talent and the trust Dharmendra placed in him. "He (Dharmendra) used to say, 'Only Ahmed can make all the Deols dance.' That was our special bond," Ahmed Khan revealed.
When Karan Deol, Sunny Deol's son, got married, Dharmendra ensured that Ahmed Khan was the one to choreograph the sangeet. "Dharam ji made it a point that I do the sangeet for Karan's wedding. I was the only person who made the entire family dance. He believed that I was the only one in the industry who could make the Deols dance. That's how close we were," Ahmed Khan explained.
The loss of Dharmendra was akin to losing a father figure for Ahmed Khan. "When I was with Sunny three days ago at the bungalow, it felt like the head of the family, the guiding light, was missing. We were completely devastated," he concluded.
This story highlights the impact Dharmendra had on those around him and the unique relationships he fostered. It's a reminder of the power of human connection and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
